The brake is a braking device on the band saw machine. Since the inertia of the lower saw wheel is relatively large when the band saw is to be operated, if the saw is stopped without braking, the rolling inertia of the lower wheel will continue for a long time before stopping. However, using the brake to brake the saw wheel can shorten the idling time when the saw is stopped, which is the primary effect of the band saw brake.

The saw machine is provided with a brake hand wheel, the eccentric shaft is provided with a wood board for braking, the wood board on the eccentric shaft can be pressed on the surface of the next saw wheel by rolling the hand wheel, and the lower saw wheel is braked by the collision of the lower wheels.

The board used for braking is made of hard and miscellaneous wood that is relatively wear-resistant, so it needs to be checked and replaced frequently to ensure the sensitivity of braking. Some saw wheels are cast with brake hubs, and the lower saw wheels can be braked by pressing on the hubs.

Maintenance of the cutting device of horizontal band saw machine: when the band saw machine is started, the air pump is started at the same time, and compressed air blows the cutting from the cutting part of the workpiece through the air nozzle to ensure smooth sawing. (1) Before starting the machine, lubricating oil shall be injected into each oil injection hole according to the specifications. (2) before sawing, should first open empty running for a few minutes, to observe whether its operation is normal. (3) Before sawing, check whether the band saw blade is moderately tight. Otherwise, not only will the sawing quality be affected, but also the band saw blade may come out or break and cause accidents. (4) Before trimming the welding seam, the band saw blade should idle the grinding wheel for 3 ~ 5min, observe its runout, trim the grinding wheel, and then trim the band saw blade.
